Sister Cities International Conference in San Antonio
NSCA Executive Director Ashley McLeod, Kochi Committee Chair Dr. Ann Schwarz-Miller, and student Rachel Prescott attended the Sister Cities International Conference in San Antonio, Texas. Mrs. McLeod participated in a panel on the importance of membership in Sister City programs nationwide. Rachel participated in the Youth Leadership Summit, in which she represented Germany. She was chosen as one of the two Most Outstanding Delegates! Congratulations Rachel!
Delegation Trip to Cagayan de Oro, Philippines
NSCA sent an official delegation to its sister city in the Philippines: Cagayan de Oro. NSCA’s Immediate Past President Janis Weisberg reports that she and her travel companions CdO Committee Chair Guia Caliwagan and former CdO Committee Chair Dr. Juan Montero have been warmly hosted in the “golden city of friendship.” The “Golden Lady” mermaid, a gift from Norfolk to Cagayan de Oro was unveiled in a ceremony at City Hall and it will be soon moved to the nearby Duaw Park.
