Welcome to the Toulon Committee’s first and (this time) unofficial “Diner en Blanc”! Please read this message carefully to ensure a successful event.

LOCATION REVEALED!
Join 100 other celebrants at the Norfolk Botanical Gardens, on the lovely terrace outside the cafe, near the Japanese Gardens. When you enter the gardens, continue on the driveway until it curves to the left: you will see the Cafe on the left side of the driveway, behind the arbors.
6700 Azalea Garden Rd Norfolk, VA 23518 http://norfolkbotanicalgarden.org/

Please make sure ALL guests in your party are aware of the location.

What is provided:

Tables, chairs, and tablecloths.
Ice.
Live music.
Ambiance.

Seating for some larger groups who registered together has been reserved. Other seating is first come, first choice!

What attendees need to bring:

Everything else!

Food, beverages, table decor, china, flatware.

Why is it called Diner en Blanc (White Dinner)?
Everything is white! (except the food and beverages, of course)

This includes attire, table decor, and china.

Diner en Blanc is an elegant event, and table settings should be selected accordingly. No paper plates or plastic flatware. Cloth napkins are encouraged.

Note: for those who prefer not to bring their good china, silver-rimmed white plates en plastique are available at DollarTreeDeals.

Diner en blanc is not a picnic; it is elegant dining al fresco.

Rules for alcohol:

Toulon Committee has obtained an ABC banquet license.

You may bring alcoholic beverages of any sort for your own consumption, and to share with dining partners.

No alcohol may be served to or by anyone under the age of 21, although those under the age of 21 may attend the event.

Admission to the Gardens:

A list of the registrants will be provided to the gate.
You will not need to pay admission to enter the Gardens.

Parking is plentiful as indicated by the signs, but if you would like to drop off your dinner materials before parking, there is a small parking area immediately adjacent to the cafe. Please make room for other attendees to do the same and remove your vehicle to the general parking lot after offloading your dinner.

The restroom building is a very short walk from the terrace.

See you tomorrow (August 15th) at 7 PM!

Although this Diner en Blanc is not affiliated with the international “Diner en Blanc” organization,  it is a trial run for an affiliated event next year., and we are (mostly) following their rules.
