On Wednesday, April 24, 2013, NSCA held its Young Artists Young Authors Showcase reception. This year, the theme was “The Power of Exchange” and we received almost 25 art and poetry submissions from various Norfolk Public Schools, Western Branch High School in Chesapeake, and even 3 international pieces from sister city Kitakyushu, Japan.
Congratulations to 1st place art winner Darrell Daniel from Madison Alternative School and 1st place poetry winner Elizabeth Mayes from Granby High School! Their pieces will be going on to compete internationally in Sister Cities International’s Young Artists & Authors Showcase.
Thank you to all teachers and student participants! We hope for an even bigger turnout next year!
